This Dot Labs Receives Chainlink Grant to Build Community-Driven Developer Resource Site

A cornerstone of the Chainlink Community Grant Program is enhancing the developer experience around building hybrid smart contracts and using Chainlink oracles. Doing so requires cultivation of the industry’s best tooling and educational resources so developers can not only learn how to deploy their first Chainlinked smart contracts but continually evolve their skill sets and actualize advanced dApps that redefine trust relationships in modern economies.

In order to create a more effective developer experience for the growing multi-chain Chainlink ecosystem, we are excited to award a grant to This Dot Labs—a development consultancy specializing in modern web technologies and scaling open-source communities by transforming their digital assets, upskilling their teams, and finding novel avenues for advanced integration.

Through the grant, This Dot Labs will create an open-source website for the Chainlink developer ecosystem, with the sole purpose of accelerating the learning curve for new developers and retaining existing developers by fostering their growth.

This Dot Labs will focus on providing the following value to the Chainlink and wider hybrid smart contract developer ecosystem:

  • Create an open-source website that hosts and/or links to all important ecosystem resources, such as physical and digital educational materials, developer documentation and libraries, online and offline events, social media channels and community discussion boards, and any other resource developers need to be successful when building Chainlinked dApps.
  • Develop a fair and effective method for Chainlink’s open-source community to influence how the website’s content is selected, organized, and displayed. The website will reflect the prioritization of its participants by enabling community members to request new listings and changes in ordering.
  • Optimize the website for discoverability so developers of any skill level can easily find it and quickly obtain the exact resources they need for their particular moment in the developer journey.

This Dot Labs is a leading Javascript consultancy that offers support to companies looking to build their expertise in web-based technologies. They specialize in modern front-end and full-stack development services, open-source strategization, and creative marketing solutions that catapult the brands and technologies within relevant communities and marketplaces. This Dot has worked with many established enterprises, including ones with large developer communities like Google, Twilio, Facebook, Roblox, and Cloudinary.

With years of experience building communities around open-source projects, This Dot Labs makes for a great grant candidate to scale Chainlink’s developer resource infrastructure so it accommodates the continued ecosystem growth. A public resource hub optimized for a global developer community will help the onboarding process of new developers by funneling them to the best resources for their exact skill levels. It will also save new and established developers time and accelerate learning curves, ultimately driving a more mature Chainlink ecosystem for hybrid smart contract development.

“We’re thrilled to receive a grant from the Chainlink Community Grant Program to build an open-source, community-focused website targeted at enhancing the developer experience for the quickly expanding Chainlink ecosystem,” stated Tracy Lee, CEO of This Dot Labs. “Our extensive experience with scaling open-source technology communities will enable us to identify the key pain points at all levels of the developer journey and implement targeted solutions that help developers build more secure and advanced Chainlinked smart contracts.”
