Thank you to all the participants who helped make the very first Solana Blockchain Developer Bootcamp such a success! Over four days, developers learned how to write, deploy, and interact with smart contracts on Solana, and how Chainlink decentralized oracle networks enable anyone to build hybrid smart contracts that leverage high-quality real-world data from Chainlink Data Feeds.
330+ developers from Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Oceania came together to start their journeys as Solana developers, participating in seven hours worth of presentations, demos, and hands-on exercises split across multiple sessions.
Developers who missed out or want to revisit the content can access the sessions on-demand by registering on the bootcamp website. Developers and community members who are interested in running their own Solana bootcamp using this content and receiving further support can email [email protected].
Welcoming Hundreds of New Solana Smart Contract Developers
This very first Solana bootcamp was created to provide developers who are starting out with Solana smart contract developmentwith a solid foundation in Solana, Rust, the Anchor framework, and how to use Chainlink Data Feeds on Solana. Here’s a snapshot of the key topics we covered across both modules:
- Introduction to Solana
- Solana Architecture and Programming Model
- Rust Fundamentals
- Building Solana Smart Contracts
- SPL Token Program and Program Derived Addresses
- Introduction to Anchor
- The Oracle Problem and Chainlink
- Using Chainlink Data Feeds
- Where You Can Learn More
More Bootcamp Opportunities
While the first Solana Blockchain Developer Bootcamp is over, the content is available for developers to review, enabling them to learn all about building Solana smart contracts at their own pace. Developers can sign up to access the materials by registering on the bootcamp website.
Going forward, this introductory Solana bootcamp will be scaled to run all across the world, both in-person and virtually, and hosted in various languages,. If you are interested in receiving support to run your own bootcamp, please email [email protected].
There will be more developer bootcamps around other topics and technologies in the future to engage and empower smart contract developers of all experience levels. If you have a great idea for a bootcamp topic or focus, feel free to reach out and share your idea.
Finally, be sure to sign up for the official Chainlink Developer Newsletter to find out about future bootcamps and stay up-to-date on all Chainlink developer-focused news.
Thank you again to all the 2022 Solana Blockchain Developer Bootcamp participants! Please keep experimenting and building upon the knowledge and experience you’ve gained by exploring resources like the Solana Cookbook and SolDev, entering upcoming hackathons, and creating personal projects. Finally, be sure to sign up for the latest Chainlink Hackathon to put your newly learned skills to the test.
