Simply VC Receives Chainlink Community Grant
In order to further support the rapid growth of the larger blockchain ecosystem that Chainlink relies on, we’ve recently released the Chainlink Community Grant Program, as a means of providing important financial resources to the many development teams helping build key systems around Chainlink, as well as the many additional developer resources that enable easy access to the network. Our goal with the grant program is to deploy substantial financial resources towards the creation of critical developer tooling, the addition of more high-quality data, and the launching of key services around the Chainlink Network. We’re excited to begin announcing our awards of Chainlink Community Grants and encourage all the talented individual developers and development teams in our community to apply to the grant program here.
We are glad to announce that Simply VC—a leading blockchain infrastructure provider and development team, has been selected as a recipient of the Chainlink Community Grant Program. Simply VC is receiving a grant to build its PANIC monitoring and alerting system for the Chainlink Network so it can be leveraged by Chainlink Nodes as a mechanism for staying up-to-date with a variety of network activity. Some of the key features PANIC will provide to the Chainlink Network, include:
- PANIC will monitor most of the typical Chainlink setup, including first and foremost the Chainlink nodes and tools, but also the underlying systems, Ethereum Nodes and accounts, and repositories. Based on data from these sources, alerts will be sent out to Nodes through various channels such as Email, Twilio, Telegram, Slack, Opsgenie, and Pagerduty.
- Monitoring data will be stored and presented in a dashboard user interface, along with a log of historical and live alerts. On top of this, the UI will allow the operator to reconfigure their PANIC instance, such as adding or removing nodes, adding a new channel, and much more.
PANIC is a monitoring and alerting solution for validators that keeps an eye on an operator’s setup and swiftly sends relevant alerts via multiple alerting channels. The main objective of PANIC is to eliminate node operator blindness to the state of their node setups and to enable operators to get notified effectively and immediately about anything that can jeopardize the availability of their nodes.
Monitoring and alerting tools like PANIC are key pieces of infrastructure for the Chainlink Network, as they provide Chainlink Nodes with an assortment of real-time information that enhances their ability to make timely and well-informed decisions. Having reliable, automated response systems increases the overall security of the Chainlink Network and allows it to quickly recover should any anomalies arise. This brings even more assurances around availability to smart contract applications relying on oracle services, further protecting user funds.
Being an open-source technology that any Chainlink Node can leverage for increased service reliability, Simply VC’s PANIC system deserves to be funded through the Community Grant Program as a means for adding innovative features that benefit the entire Chainlink Network. Supporting great community resources such as the Simply VC’s PANIC system aligns with the Community Grant Program’s goals of providing tools and services that will grow the Chainlink Network, DeFi ecosystem, and smart contract economies across all blockchain environments.
“We’re excited to receive a Chainlink Community Grant to bring additional security features to Chainlink Node Operators through our open-source PANIC system,” stated Matthew Felice Pace, CEO of Simply VC. “The Chainlink Community Grant will allow us to build a monitoring and alerting system customized to the needs of the Chainlink Network, as well as make that data available to all Chainlink Nodes through a simple UI and across various popular alerting channels.”
Through the Chainlink Community Grants program, we look forward to continuing to empower more and more Chainlink ecosystem teams who are building key tools and infrastructure that accelerate the development of hybrid smart contracts and secure oracle node infrastructure. We will continue supporting the community as a key driver of Chainlnk’s rapid growth, because only together can we make hybrid smart contracts into the dominant form of digital agreement.
