In order to further support the rapid growth of the Chainlink ecosystem, we’ve recently released the Chainlink Community Grant Program as a means of providing important financial resources to the many development teams and researchers building Chainlink, as well as the many additional developer resources that enable easy access to the network. Our goal with the grant program is to deploy substantial financial resources towards the creation of critical developer tooling, the addition of more high-quality data, and the launching of key services around the Chainlink Network, with key academic research to support those developments. We’re excited to announce that Protofire, a provider of blockchain development services, has been selected as a recipient of a blockchain integration grant as part of the Chainlink Community Grant Program. Protofire is receiving a grant for a native integration of Chainlink into the xDai blockchain to support the many Chainlink ecosystem projects building on its platform. Catering to the demand of our users has always been a top priority, and this grant represents direct financial support that will aid in their development on the xDai blockchain.

Protofire is a recognized provider of development services and consultancy around blockchain, building decentralized protocols, smart contracts, applications, and developer tools (SDKs/APIs). Protofire has contributed to the development of many top projects in the blockchain ecosystem, including: Maker, 0x, Tezos, Gnosis, Kyber Network, The Graph, Synthetix, etc.

Being both a validator and core developer of a great part of the xDai technology stack, Protofire has extensive expertise in the xDai platform and makes for a great candidate to receive a Chainlink Community Grant for an integration of Chainlink on xDai Chain. The xDai Chain is an Ethereum-based blockchain that uses USD-stable xDai (a representation of DAI token) as the native coin of the network. It’s a stable payments blockchain designed for fast and inexpensive stable transactions.

As part of the grant, Protofire will provide several key components to the integration, including:

• Validating and adapting Chainlink contracts to ensure compatibility with xDai chain
• Ensuring that the LINK token is bridged to xDai
• Testing and deployment of all components to xDai
• Deliver a monitoring solution for the Chainlink xDai integration
