IRISnet Receives Grant to Natively Integrate Chainlink on BSN
The Chainlink Community Grant Program provides financial resources to the many development teams and researchers building a more functional and accessible Chainlink Network. We encourage talented individual developers and development teams to apply to the grant program here, or if you are a researcher and want to collaborate, contact us.
We’re excited to announce that IRISnet, an interchain blockchain protocol whose core development team includes Bianjie (a national award-winning blockchain technology team based in Shanghai), has been selected as a recipient of a blockchain integration grant as part of the Chainlink Community Grant Program. IRISnet is receiving a grant to complete a native integration of Chainlink on China’s Blockchain Services Network (BSN), enabling governments and enterprises in China and throughout the world to incorporate validated real-world data into their BSN applications in a highly secure and reliable manner.
IRISnet is an interchain service hub for next-generation distributed applications, with a consortium blockchain product called IRITA. Built with Cosmos/IRIS-SDK, IRISnet enables cross-chain interoperability through a unified service model. IRISnet’s core development team Bianjie focuses on blockchain and big data-related product technology research and development, application platform construction, and solution consulting.
BSN is a cross-cloud, cross-portal, and cross-framework global public infrastructure network used to deploy and operate all types of blockchain-based distributed applications (dApps). Its blockchain infrastructure service layer is designed to be a one-stop-shop for companies to access low-cost blockchain cloud computing services. It’s supported by major Chinese entities and corporations, and its founding consortia partners include China’s State Information Center, China Mobile, China UnionPay, and Red Date Technologies.
The integration will involve multiple technologies and parties, including Chainlink for its oracle technology, IRISnet’s IRITA as a permissioned interchain hub, SNZ Pool-operated Chainlink nodes for oracle service operators, and BSN as the base layer for hosting the underlying blockchains. Chainlink will be integrated into BSN via IRITA’s interchain service hub, which allows BSN blockchains to request and receive external off-chain data from Chainlink oracles.
As part of the grant, IRISnet will provide several key components to the integration, including:
- Validate and adapt Chainlink contracts to ensure compatibility with BSN and IRITA
- Test and deploy of all components to BSN and IRITA
- Deliver a monitoring solution for the integration
“We’re excited to receive a Chainlink Community Grant to integrate its industry-leading oracle solution into BSN to support the growing wave of distributed application development across China and around the world,” stated Harriet Cao, Co-founder of IRISnet. “It is our great pleasure to make Chainlink oracle services accessible and easy to use by all the blockchains on BSN, not only expanding Chainlink into additional blockchain environments but helping support BSN’s vision of making a complete suite of public blockchain infrastructure available at affordable prices to small and large enterprises.”
Through the Chainlink Community Grants program, we look forward to continuing to empower more and more Chainlink ecosystem teams and researchers who are both researching and building key tools and infrastructure that accelerate the development of hybrid smart contracts and secure oracle networks. We will continue supporting the community as a key driver of Chainlink’s rapid growth, because only together can we make hybrid smart contracts into the dominant form of digital agreement.
