Tintash Receives Co-Sponsored Grant to Natively Integrate Chainlink on Stacks

The Chainlink Community Grant Program provides financial resources to the many development teams and researchers building a more functional, accessible, and socially impactful Chainlink Network. We encourage talented individual developers and development teams to apply to the grant program here, or if you are a researcher and want to collaborate, contact us.

We’re excited to announce that the technology development company Tintash has been selected as a recipient of a Chainlink community grant to natively integrate Chainlink oracles into the Stacks smart contract platform. The grant is co-sponsored by the Chainlink Grant Program and Hiro—the major development company building developer tooling to support and accelerate the adoption of Stacks, the network that enables apps and smart contracts on Bitcoin. By bringing Chainlink natively to Stacks, developers will be able to build smart contract applications secured by the Bitcoin blockchain and augmented by Chainlink’s external data and off-chain computation, all without cross-dependencies on other blockchain networks.

As a result of the grant, Stacks developers will be able to quickly launch new externally connected decentralized applications and markets across DeFi, insurance, gaming, NFTs, and more. Most notably, the grant will establish support on Stacks for Chainlink Price Feeds—ready-made decentralized oracle networks that provide DeFi apps with high-quality financial market data in a hyper-reliable and tamper-proof manner. They will also be able to establish custom connections to external APIs, such as to get sports and weather data, opening up a variety of possibilities for the Stacks ecosystem.

As part of the grant, Tintash will provide several key components to the integration, including:

  • Validate and adapt Chainlink contracts in Clarity, a decidable language that brings smart contracts to Bitcoin
  • Test and deploy all Chainlink components to Stacks mainnet
  • Provide an automated test to verify the integration of Stacks and Chainlink using test node instances
  • Create documentation showing how developers can integrate with Chainlink on Stacks

Tintash is a global development company providing a multitude of customized solutions to startups, unicorns, and Fortune 500s such as Bed Bath and Beyond, Draft Kings, and the Stacks ecosystem. Tintash works closely with projects to design and build unique digital products, with core services offered in web, mobile app, game, and blockchain development. Tintash has an international team of over 150 people and has delivered over 120 products to clients.

Stacks is an open-source platform that enables the creation of smart contract applications secured by the Bitcoin blockchain. Developers building within the Stacks ecosystem can leverage the existing security and network effects offered by Bitcoin to ensure their dApps are censorship-resistant, permissionless, transparent, and fully composable with other smart contract applications.

“We’re excited to receive a co-sponsored grant to bring Chainlink’s industry-leading oracle network natively onto the Stacks network to accelerate development and adoption of their smart contract ecosystem across key markets like DeFi,” stated Murad Akhter, CEO and Co-Founder at Tintash. “As a development company with 10+ years of experience and a strong familiarity with the Stacks Network, we look forward to adapting Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure and decentralized services so they’re natively compatible with the Stacks protocol, ultimately empowering developers to build decentralized applications on Stacks that go onto redefine new and existing industry verticals.”

Through the Chainlink Community Grants program, we look forward to continuing to empower more and more Chainlink ecosystem teams, researchers, and social impact projects who are both researching and building key tools and infrastructure that accelerate the development of universally connected smart contracts, secure oracle networks, and impactful technology that improves the world. We will continue supporting the community as a key driver of Chainlink’s rapid growth, because only together can we make universally connected smart contracts into the dominant form of digital agreement.

About Stacks

Secure smart contracts and apps for Bitcoin. The Stacks ecosystem is a collection of independent entities, developers, and community members working to build a user-owned internet on Bitcoin. The Stacks 2.0 blockchain extends the design of Bitcoin to enable secure apps and predictable Clarity smart contracts without modifying Bitcoin itself, opening innovation on the network for the first time.
